Meet Captain Darren

Darren Sadler, your expert fishing guide, has lived in the Ozarks for over 25 years and has been an avid fisherman and outdoorsmen since childhood. After earning a degree in Wildlife Management and Conservation with an emphasis on Fishery Biology from Missouri State University (formerly Southwest Missouri State University) in 1997, Darren began working in the fishing and outdoor industry.

Darren has experience as a naturalist and fishing guide at Dogwood Canyon Nature Park. He has worked for several well known outdoors companies including Bass Pro Shops, White River Fly Shop, Drury Outdoors, and Rapala/Storm where he provided expert advice to clients and outdoor enthusiasts.

Darren's lifelong dream of operating his own fishing guide business is now a reality and he is eager to share his vast knowledge with you. Darren is skilled in finding and catching a variety of freshwater species, including bass, crappie, trout, white bass, and panfish. Darren is well-versed in flyfishing and conventional fishing alike.

When he is not on the water, Darren enjoys flyfishing, tying flies, making custom fishing tackle, gardening, foraging for edible mushrooms, and spending time with his trusty K-9 companion, Pepper, who is equally passionate about fishing and hunting. Darren's passion for the outdoors is infectious and he enjoys sharing it with fellow pros and newcomers alike. Rest assured that regardless of your level of experience, Darren will ensure that your trip is memorable and tailored to your needs.

As of 2023 Captain Darren Sadler and Mozark Fishscapes have now gone 100% flyfishing. We have been working with River Run Outfitters in Branson, MO for over 8 years now. You can usually find Captain Darren working the fly shop on Wednesdays helping customers and guiding clients on beautiful Lake Taneycomo the rest of the week. Soon to come(Aug 2023) will be our brand new custom Stealthcraft drift boat to better serve the needs of our flyfishing clients.
